Predicting what's going to happen at the Golden Globe Awards is a fool's errand.
Well, I guess I'm the man for the job.
With the 73rd annual Golden Globes being held in Los Angeles on Sunday, Jan. 10, hosted by Ricky Gervais and airing live on NBC and CTV, here are my thoughts on the various TV categories.
There always are surprises. So as always, be careful with your high-stakes wagering.
BEST DRAMA SERIES
Nominees: Empire; Game of Thrones; Mr. Robot; Narcos; Outlander.
WHAT WILL WIN: Mr. Robot.
OUTSIDE CHANCE: Game of Thrones.
UP TO ME: Mr. Robot.
BEST DRAMA ACTOR
Nominees: Jon Hamm, Mad Men; Rami Malek, Mr. Robot; Wagner Moura, Narcos; Bob Odenkirk, Better Call Saul; Liev Schreiber, Ray Donovan.
WHO WILL WIN: Rami Malek.
OUTSIDE CHANCE: Jon Hamm.
UP TO ME: Rami Malek.
BEST SUPPORTING ACTOR (ALL TV)
Nominees: Alan Cumming, The Good Wife; Damian Lewis, Wolf Hall; Ben Mendelsohn, Bloodline; Tobias Menzies, Outlander; Christian Slater, Mr. Robot.
WHO WILL WIN: Ben Mendelsohn.
OUTSIDE CHANCE: Christian Slater.
UP TO ME: Michael McKean from Better Call Saul – he wasn't even nominated!
