The trailer for Season 3 of USA’s “Mr. Robot” is here, and it features a creepy, disembodied voice reciting lyrics from Leonard Cohen’s “Democracy.”
“It’s coming from the sorrow in the street, the holy places where the races meet,” the raspy voice says, as pictures of masked f-society members roam New York City, seemingly wreaking havoc. “From the homicidal b—-in’ that goes down in every kitchen to determine who will serve and who will eat …”
Things in Elliott’s (Rami Malek) world seem to be taking on a darker turn. He’s pictured in front of a bookshelf grasping at his neck; we see Mr. Robot (Christian Slater) looking pretty confused, and lots of masked people with guns.
We briefly get a glimpse of Darlene (Carly Chaikin), crying, and Angela (Portia Doubleday), also looking confused amidst what seems to be a crime scene. We also get a glimpse at Bobby Cannavale, who is joining the cast as a character named Irving, flanked by two masked gunmen.
“Democracy is comin’ to the USA,” the raspy voice concludes, as the shot pans down on Elliott standing in front of the entrance of the E Corporation.
Season 3 of “Mr. Robot” will return to USA on Oct. 11.
