100 Ft. Ferris Wheel Pops Up in Austin for SXSW

AUSTIN, Texas -- Downtown Austin is getting a 100-foot Ferris Wheel.

USA Network is bringing the amusement ride to the South By Southwest event in honor of its show "Mr. Robot."

The one-of-a-kind Ferris wheel is set up on West 4th and Congress Avenue and is designed to give festival-goers the full Elliot and Mr. Robot experience.

The network wants to make the festival feel more like Coney Island, where the show is based.

Starting Friday, people can ride the Ferris Wheel, enter a recreated fsociety lair and play retro videogames in the hacker arcade.

A freestanding 8-foot-high graffiti art wall will also be on display that will be covered in fsociety postings and stencil artwork.

On Sunday, stars from the show, including Christian Slater, Rami Malek, and Sam Esmail, will sit on a panel to discuss the "Authenticity of TV."

Mr. Robot is a psychological thriller that follows Elliot -- Rami Malek -- a young programmer, who works as a cyber security engineer by day and a vigilante hacker by night.

Elliot finds himself at a crossroads when the mysterious leader -- Christian Slater -- of an underground hacker group recruits him to destroy the corporation he is paid to protect.
