My favorite TV Shows of 2015 - A Side of Mayo

I love television. I watch a LOT of it. I should really be 500 pounds but luckily, I am not.  Anyway, to give you an idea of what my taste is like, my favorite shows (in no particular order) of all time are The X-Files, Six Feet Under, Game of Thrones, Breaking Bad, Wonderfalls, and Lost (even with the controversial ending).  Man, I should really have more comedies in here.  Anyway, here were my top 10 favorite NEW shows.  The criteria is that they had to be a new show in 2015 and to have had only released one season.

So, here they are IN particular order.

1. MR. ROBOT (Premiered June 2015)

USA Network

USA Network

“How are you not watching this show?!” exclaimed my friend Ryan.  We were having pizza and I said I saw snippets…Christian Slater on a subway, the main character in a hoody, a ferris wheel.  But, I was on the road and sorry, I’m old school, but I hate watching television on a computer monitor. I think it should be on a big ass screen.  This is why I love watching things in IMAX or 70mm and don’t mind paying extra for it.  My friend Ken took me to different ‘Mr. Robot’ places in NYC…his apartment, the coffee shop in the first 5 minutes of the show.  I took pictures, not knowing what I was taking pictures of, and was glad I did after the fact.

If you watch ONE new show this year, it’s this one. I cannot speak enough about it.  It has stuff I love—technology (I hate you but love you at the same time technology), interesting characters, I don’t hate the women (women are given thankless parts. the women in here are interesting and not one-sided), I LOVE the main character and agree with him a ton of the time, a conflict of interest, conspiracies and mystery.  Who is Mr. Robot?  Why does Elliott work for that company? That CTO has crazy eyes and How did Christian Slater get this part?  I watched all of the episodes then, I told my boyfriend about it, so I could watch it again.  He was exhausted with television in general, until I said these words “Watch the first five minutes. If you’re not hooked, we’ll turn it off. Just give it five minutes.”  After five minutes, my boyfriend said “HOLY SHIT, I’M HOOKED!”  and we binge-watched the afternoon away.  Smart, ambitious and intriguing, Mr. Robot is hands down my new favorite show and the best thing out there.
